Man Committed to Stand Trial Over Murder of Toshao

October 3 2025 – Twenty-six-year-old Noah Beaton has been committed to stand trial in the High Court for the alleged murder of Tasserene Toshao Ridley Joseph.
The decision was handed down yesterday by Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 3, following a preliminary inquiry into the matter.
Beaton, who was arrested and charged on December 16, 2024, is accused of killing Joseph at Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, on the same date.
According to reports, Beaton claimed that Joseph had sexually abused him between the ages of six and ten. He later confronted Joseph at a hotel, demanding an admission of guilt. When Joseph allegedly refused and made another advance, the confrontation escalated fatally.
The case will now proceed to trial at the next practicable sitting of the High Court.
