A 63-year-old woman, Waveny Fernandes, is hospitalised after being struck by a car on Wednesday night at the intersection of David and Alexander Streets in Kitty, Georgetown.

Fernandes reportedly suffered facial lacerations, as well as injuries to her arms and legs.

Videos circulating on social media show that one of the vehicles attempted to overtake at the intersection and collided with another. Fernandes, who was walking at the corner, was struck as the cars lost control.

The vehicles involved are a Lexus owned by Sheriff Security and a Mercedes-Benz. Investigations are ongoing.
