Hundreds benefit from Region Five’s “Dream Realised”

The Ministry of Housing brought relief and opportunity to hundreds of residents on Friday as it hosted its “Dream Realised” Housing Drive in Rosignol, Region Five, where land titles and housing assistance were distributed to beneficiaries.

A total of 550 land titles were made available during the exercise, allowing recipients to take a significant step toward securing legal ownership of their properties.

In addition, 90 steel and cement vouchers, valued at approximately $21 million, were distributed to assist homeowners with the construction and improvement of their homes.

Officials also highlighted future housing development plans for the region, revealing that efforts are underway to identify suitable lands in the Mahaicony area for the establishment of new housing schemes aimed at meeting growing demand.

During the outreach, residents were informed that they can access loans from banks and other financial institutions using their Agreement of Sale, eliminating the need to wait until they receive their land titles before seeking financing for home construction.

Beneficiaries also commended the Housing Ministry for what many described as a straightforward and efficient allocation process, which enabled them to move one step closer to homeownership.

The initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to housing and provide greater support for citizens seeking to build and own their homes.
