January 10, 2025- The Guyana Oil Company Limited (Guyoil) has bolstered its fuel distribution capabilities with the addition of two advanced Freightliner trucks.

The new vehicles were unveiled during a soft commissioning ceremony at the Providence Service Station, marking a major milestone for the company.

Speaking at the event, General Manager Molly Hassan emphasized that this was the first acquisition of new trucks since 2017, underscoring Guyoil’s commitment to providing safe, efficient, and sustainable fuel distribution services across the country.

She stated that the company has a responsibility to the people of Guyana to ensure the equitable distribution of fuel at all times, noting that the addition of these Freightliner trucks will allow the company to meet growing demand, enhance service reliability, and maintain the highest safety standards.

The new trucks, with fuel capacities of 9,300 and 23,000 liters, are equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to optimize efficiency and safety. They will be instrumental in ensuring seamless fuel distribution, especially during high-demand periods.

Ms. Hassan also commended the Guyoil team for their dedication and professionalism in the acquisition process, highlighting their role in advancing the company’s operational capacity.

The introduction of these state-of-the-art vehicles aligns with Guyoil’s mission to serve the nation effectively while adapting to evolving needs. The trucks are expected to significantly improve fuel transportation, reinforcing Guyoil’s position as a reliable energy provider in Guyana.
