‘EL Paso’ Found Dead at Nabaclis Sea Dam

September 23, 2025 — Police have launched an investigation into the death of 45-year-old Dwayne Roberson, known as ‘El Paso’, whose partially decomposed body was discovered on Tuesday morning at the Nabaclis sea dam, East Coast Demerara.
Roberson, of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, reportedly lived with his parents and siblings. Relatives told investigators that he was an alcoholic and often stayed away from home for extended periods.
According to family members, Roberson was last seen alive on Sunday, September 21, at around 9:00 a.m., drinking at a shop in Nabaclis. He allegedly became intoxicated, fell, and hit his head on a concrete floor but did not seek medical attention. Later that evening, while at home, he reportedly began behaving erratically, claiming the police were trying to kill him. By 11:00 p.m., relatives lost track of him.
The following night, his father, 68-year-old William Roberson, filed a missing person’s report at the Cove and John Police Station. The family continued searching until Tuesday, September 23, when villagers alerted them that a body had been spotted in a trench.
Police and relatives arrived at the scene, where Roberson was found lying face up. No visible marks of violence were observed. He was pronounced dead at the Enmore Regional Hospital before being taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
Investigations are ongoing.
