Manslaughter charges for salesman in Water Street killings

Angelo Answick, who is accused of fatally stabbing two men during an altercation in Georgetown, has been charged with manslaughter.
The incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on August 7, 2026, in the Water Street area and resulted in the deaths of 23-year-old Werford Vincent Trim and 36-year-old Tyrone Captain.
The men were allegedly involved in an altercation with Answick, a 29-year-old salesman of Industry, East Coast Demerara, during which they sustained stab wounds.
Trim was subsequently found on Commerce Street, Georgetown, and was pronounced dead. Captain was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he later succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
Answick was taken into custody following the incident, and a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing was recovered.
He has since been charged with manslaughter as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths continues.
