Comfort Sleep continues family support initiative

Three years after launching an initiative to help families establish small poultry ventures, the owners of ComfortSleep, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Charran, continue to provide practical support to communities across Guyana.

Last week, 24 families from across the country each received 100 baby chicks and four bags of feed, giving them an opportunity to establish or expand small-scale poultry operations.

The initiative, which began three years ago, has now benefited approximately 300 families, providing them with resources to generate income and work towards greater financial independence.

For some previous beneficiaries, the support provided the foundation to expand their poultry businesses, while others have gone on to pursue different entrepreneurial ventures, including opening shops and establishing other small businesses.

The Charrans’ continued initiative highlights the potential impact of private-sector investment in communities, particularly when support is directed towards helping families develop sustainable sources of income.

Three years on, the initiative continues to bring smiles to families while creating opportunities for self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
