Chase Academy start strong in KFC School Football title defence

The 2025 KFC International School football tournament erupted into life on Sunday, delivering electrifying moments and jaw-dropping displays of skill.
Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation sent shockwaves through the competition with a staggering 24-1 demolition of the Anglican Central Education Authority Select (ACEAS) from the Bahamas at Queen’s College Ground.
The sensational Bryan Wharton dazzled the crowd with an astonishing nine goals, while Isiah Ifill added a hat-trick to the mix; backed by a flurry of contributions from his teammates!
However, the drama didn’t stop there, Kingston College pulled off an unforgettable comeback in a nail-biting clash. After Ricardo Gibbon’s early strike, the game erupted into chaos, with Kingston unleashing a torrent of goals to clinch a breathtaking 6-5 victory!
Meanwhile, at the Ministry of Education Ground, Nikiere Technical overpowered Brazil’s José Vieira de Sales Guerra State School with a commanding 2-0 win. St. Benedict College of Trinidad and Tobago showcased their prowess, dominating Annai Secondary 4-0, thanks in large part to the phenomenal Jelani Stoute!
Tuesday promises even more excitement as Kingston College will face off against ACEAS and St. Benedict’s College will challenge Nikiere Technical at Queen’s College, while Chase battles West Ruimveldt and Guerra State School takes on Annai at the MoE. The race is on, as the top two teams from each group vie for a coveted spot in the semi-finals.
