Georgetown, May 17, 2025 — Officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) seized a significant quantity of cannabis during an operation conducted on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown.

According to a statement, acting on intelligence received, CANU ranks intercepted a motor vehicle on Saturday and carried out a search.

The search uncovered several parcels containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.

The two suspects were immediately taken into custody and transported to CANU headquarters along with the seized narcotics. Testing confirmed the substance was cannabis, with a total weight of 9.426 kilograms.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
