Businessman shot dead, suspect in custody

A businessman is dead and the suspect in his murder is now in police custody.

Dead is 59 Year Old Akbar Sain of Williamsburge, East Corentyne Berbice.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that the businessman who operates the Sain Supermarket at Williamsburge, was shot and killed in a robbery at home sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Police in Berbice quickly got into investigative mode and was able to arrest a male suspect who is said to be in his 30s’.

He, according to police sources, was found with loot from the robbery when the police arrested him.

Persons in Berbice have indicated that this is not the first time the businessman was the victim of a robbery.

Akbar Said would have celebrated his 60th Birth Anniversary next week Saturday.
