Businessman Fined $10,000 for Obstructing Public Road

A 33-year-old businessman, Sudesh Ganesh of Lot 57 Leonora, West Coast Demerara, was fined $10,000 after pleading guilty to encumbering a public street.

Ganesh appeared before Magistrate C. Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where the charge was read to him.

He admitted to the offence, which occurred on November 6, 2025, along the La Bonne Intention Public Road, East Coast Demerara.

The court subsequently ordered Ganesh to pay the fine, in accordance with the laws governing public obstruction offences.
