BREAKING: Police Sgt shot dead while hunting fugitive Akeem Wong

The Guyana Police Force is investigating the circumstances which has resulted in the shooting death of police Sergeant whose name has been given as Alex Vaughn.

Sergeant Vaughn was the rank in-charge of the Saxacalli Police Outpost in the Saxacalli Mission, Essequibo River, Region 7.

BIG Smith News Watch has been told that the policeman was killed in a friendly fire.. A friendly fire is described in law enforcement as a shot fired from the weapon being carried by colleague.

At the time of the incident, the policemen were hunting fugitive Akeem Wong who escaped from prison.

Wong is alleged to have murdered a woman and her son over the last weekend by hacking them to death in their vacation home at Saxacalli.

The police investigations into this incident are ongoing.
