Policeman killed in Essequibo crash, civilian critical

A policeman attached to the Court Superintendent’s Office in Police Regional Division 2, died on the spot Sunday night following an accident.

The crash took place at Airy Hall, Essequibo Coast.

Dead is Police Constable 24125 Dass who was said to be on a motorcycle at the time of the accident. Our information suggest that Dass was riding at the time. His pillion has been hospitalized.

BIG Smith News has been informed that the motorcycle CJ 8588 the two were on collided with a car PYY 7890.

The driver of the car, Mahendra Raj told traffic investigators that the motorcycle ended up in its path causing the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
