May 30 2025– The Ministry of Housing and Water – Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) has launched another two-day ‘Dream Realised’ housing drive at State House in Region Six, aiming to allocate house lots to approximately 1,800 Berbicians.

The allocations are being made in the new Overwinning Housing Development, located about two miles from New Amsterdam on the East Bank of Berbice.

The expansive 815-acre development is earmarked to become a modern residential hub, featuring amenities such as schools, health centres, police facilities, commercial and industrial zones, and recreational spaces.

Infrastructure works in the area are expected to commence shortly, enabling allottees to begin construction and occupation of their lands.

The scheme will be accessible via two major routes—one extending from Main Street, New Amsterdam, and the other from the western side of the development.

The current phase of allocations targets applicants from the moderate-, middle-, and high-income categories. The exercise is being led by Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal; Minister within the Ministry, Susan Rodrigues; Permanent Secretary, Bishram Kuppen; and Director of Operations at CH&PA, Denise King-Tudor. Also present are Regional Chairman David Armogan and other regional and agency officials.
