KC’S General Manager Paul Subryan handing over the tablets to Education Minister Priya Manickchand

Fast food giant, KFC has donated 250 Amazon tablet computers to the Ministry of Education.

The devices will be distributed to students in aiding their  online learning.

The tablets were handed over to Education Minister Priya Manickchand by the General Manager of KFC, Paul Subryan of KFC.

Subryan said that the company is happy to join the Ministry in it’s mission to ensure the continuity of education, especially for those children who have challenges in accessing the virtual classroom platforms given the closure of schools in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said that these are indeed difficult times that require a different mindset and approach.

“This pandemic has forced us to approach education differently and we are grateful to play a role in supporting our children’s academic development,” he remarked.

Minister Manickchand thanked Subryan for the timely donation.

She noted that the kind gesture will go a far way in ensuring the Ministry facilitates access to education and learning resources for students in communities across Guyana.
