Rum, chicken, beer seized as GRA smash smuggling ring

Ranksn Fom the Guyana Revenue Authority Law Enforcement arm on Wednesday evening swept through and smashed a smuggling ring at Albion, Corentyne Berbice arresting several persons in the process.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that three vehicles and one boat were among the mode of transportation which were intercepted during the operations.

A large amount of chicken, beers, mosquito coils and rum were among the contraband which was seized.

At the time of the interception, the smugglers had already loaded a large amount of contraband into a minibus and car while the boat was still loaded with items to be offloaded.

Over the last few months, the GRA teams has been ramping up and conducting similar successful operations as they seek to put a dent in the activities of smuggling of contraband into Guyana.
