Claudette Singh asks Lowenfield/Meyers to show why they should not be fired

Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission Claudette Singh S.C has written the Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield and Deputy Chief Elections Officer Roxane Meyers asking them to “show cause” why they should not be dismissed. We cannot confirm if a similar letter was sent to Region Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo.

In one letter seen by this publication, dated June 1, the Chairman referenced the motion tabled by the PPP/C nominated Commissioners for immediate dismissal of the officer.

The Chairman in the letter said that the motion was attached  and that the officer, “provide a response in writing on or before 15th June, 2021, to show cause why such action should not be taken against you.”

When the Commission met on Tuesday, three motions for the removal of the officers were tabled.
