A 31-year-old Linden resident lost his life early Wednesday morning following a devastating crash along the Soesdyke–Linden Highway.

Dead is Keiron Warner of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden. The accident occurred at around 06:30 hrs in the vicinity of Loo Creek and involved a motor car and a motor lorry.

Police reports indicate that Warner was driving motor car PZZ 943 south along the highway when the vehicle reportedly veered across the roadway and collided head-on with a northbound motor lorry.

The impact of the collision left the car severely damaged, trapping Warner inside the wreckage. Emergency Medical Technicians who arrived on the scene shortly after the accident examined the driver but confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the lorry, a 50-year-old man from Half Mile, Wismar, Linden, was not reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Warner’s body was later transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
