An operation by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) in Georgetown earlier today has resulted in the seizure of more than 15 pounds of cocaine, two arrests and damaged vehicles.

The operation escalated into a tense pursuit when one of the suspects attempted to evade capture by deliberately ramming his vehicle into two CANU units.

Despite the dangerous maneuver, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot in a last-ditch effort to escape.

CANU officers gave chase and successfully apprehended the fleeing suspect, bringing the dramatic encounter to a close.

Authorities have confirmed that no CANU officers were injured during the operation, though two official vehicles sustained damage as a result of the collision.

Investigations are ongoing.
