Woman charged with murder of Amar Jones at Half Mile, Wismar

A 24-year-old clerk of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, has been charged in connection with the murder of Amar Jones.
Shania Benjamin was charged with murder contrary to common law in relation to the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Half Mile, Wismar, Linden.
Benjamin appeared on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom. The charge was read to her, and she was not required to enter a plea.

Dead Amar Jones
She was remanded to prison, and the matter was adjourned to Monday, February 16, 2026.
The woman was detained shortly after Jones was fatally shot, while police are actively searching for her former boyfriend, who reportedly has previous encounters with the law.
BIG Smith News Watch understands that Jones had been in a relationship with the woman and that the killing may have stemmed from a recent altercation between the couple.
On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at about 15:00 hrs along Half Mile Public Road, Wismar, Linden, 27-year-old driver Amar Jones of One Mile, Wismar was fatally shot.
According to a police report, Jones was travelling in a motor canter along the roadway when he was approached by a motor car.
An unidentified male reportedly exited the vehicle and discharged several rounds in Jones’ direction before re-entering the car and fleeing the scene.
Police ranks who responded to the report found the victim slumped and motionless in the driver’s seat of the motor canter.
He was transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.
