Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha met with Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, during the latter’s visit to Guyana for the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Grenada in Georgetown.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, with a particular emphasis on agricultural cooperation.

Minister Mustapha reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to supporting Grenada’s agricultural development, underscoring the importance of regional collaboration as CARICOM continues efforts to bolster food security.

He noted that Guyana’s leadership in advancing regional agriculture and reducing the Caribbean’s food import bill can be further enhanced through deeper partnerships with states like Grenada.

The meeting also highlighted shared goals of innovation, resilience, and sustainable growth across the region.

Grenada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, Joseph Andall, and Honorary Consul Dr. Komal Singh were also present at the engagement.
