Anns Grove woman found buried in shallow grave at Mahaica

The body of a 20-year-old woman was discovered buried in a shallow grave at the back of a residence in Chelsea Park, Mahaica, one week after she reportedly disappeared.
Dead is Kerriana Standford, a housewife of Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.
According to a police report, Standford was last seen on July 3 after visiting a residence in Chelsea Park. Her body was discovered on Friday, July 10, buried behind the property.
The remains were taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor before being transferred to Bailey’s Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted.
A 24-year-old porter from Chelsea Park has since been detained in connection with the woman’s death as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
