Fruta Conquerors Football Club’s women enhanced their points total to seven with a decisive win over Den Amstel’s women during the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Women’s Division One League over the weekend.

Following a previous draw against Western Tigers, the Fruta Conquerors were eager to make a strong impression in their third league match, netting five goals against Den Amstel’s goalkeeper, Sabrina Peters.

Makeisha Dash opened the scoring in the 6th minute by capitalizing on a mistake from the Den Amstel goalkeeper. Akilia Bluhcer quickly followed with a goal in the 9th minute and scored again in the 25th minute. Bluhcer completed her hat trick with assistance from Dellana Small in the 47th minute. Mariah Campbell, who came on as a substitute in the second half, added another goal in the 55th minute.

Despite several opportunities in the second half, Den Amstel could not convert any chances to score.
The Women’s Division One League will resume on Friday, September 12, at the same venue, featuring Ann’s Grove United against Rivers View FC at 18:00hrs and Monedderlust FC facing Mainstay Goldstars FC at 19:30hrs.

Teams in the Women’s Division One League are competing for a grand prize of $1 million, followed by a playoff competition with a $300,000 first prize.
