The Ministry of Natural Resources is turning heads at the International Building Expo 2025 with a stunning, well-curated booth that highlights the sector’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and responsible use of Guyana’s rich natural resources.

Project Officer Darlene Christian guided visitors through the booth’s many features, beginning with an impressive forest management map that clearly illustrates allocations alongside state forests—underscoring the government’s commitment to balancing development with conservation.

Adding to the visual impact, the booth proudly displayed beautiful value-added wood products, including doors crafted from lesser-valued species and finely finished walls and ceilings that demonstrate the versatility and elegance of Guyana’s timber industry.

The display also emphasized how mining and forestry can coexist when managed responsibly. Representatives from the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission were on hand, showcasing aggregates essential for construction, while the Guyana Mining School offered on-the-spot registration for free courses aimed at promoting safe and sustainable mining practices.

Visitors were equally drawn to the petroleum sector’s section, where experts engaged the public, answering questions about the industry’s role and opportunities.

A sparkling array of locally sourced crystals and stones further captivated the crowd, offering a glimpse into Guyana’s geological wealth.

With its interactive displays and knowledgeable staff, the Ministry’s booth provided an engaging and educational experience for adults and children alike—showcasing how Guyana’s forests, minerals, and petroleum resources can be managed to support national development while preserving the environment for future generations.
