May 8, 2025 – A 67-year-old farmer from Manawarin Village in the North West District has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and remanded to prison.

Richard Albert appeared before the Acquero Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where the charge was formally read to him. He pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Albert, who is accused of being in possession of a firearm without a valid license, was denied bail.
