
Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, welcomed Brian Bogart, Representative and Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Caribbean Multi-Country Office, during a courtesy call at his office.
The meeting focused on strengthening Guyana’s agricultural sector through strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.
Discussions centered on key areas, including investment in agriculture, connecting local farmers and producers with investors, and enhancing capacity building to improve the country’s agricultural value chain.
Both officials emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring long-term growth and sustainability within the sector.
The engagement highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for farmers while positioning Guyana as a leader in regional food security.
