Man Hacks Wife to Death In front of 7-Y-O Son at Annandale

– Suspect Hospitalized After Reportedly Consuming Poison

January 29 2025- Authorities are investigating the suspected murder of 34-year-old Bibi Fazila Ally, a school cleaner from Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, who was allegedly killed at Annandale Sand Reef on January 29, 2025.

According to a police statement, the suspect, identified as 52-year-old carpenter Bidraj Ganesh, also known as “Boy,” was reportedly in a relationship with Ally for over eight years.

The couple shared an eight-year-old son, who lived with his mother.

Their relationship ended in December 2024 following allegations of infidelity and threats made by the suspect.

According to reports, Ally had gone to work as usual on the morning of the incident. Around midday, teachers noticed her absence.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., the victim’s son alerted his aunt, Raywattie Ganesh, a 50-year-old school cleaner, stating that his father had attacked his mother and fled in a taxi.

Raywattie immediately informed school staff and reported the matter to police at the Annandale Outpost.

Emergency responders from the Melanie Fire Station arrived at the scene, but Ally was pronounced dead by Dr. Lewis from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation at 1:15 p.m. Her body was later transported to the Memorial Gardens Mortuary for further examination.

Following an investigation, police located and arrested Bidraj Ganesh at the Enterprise Cemetery around 3:05 p.m.

Upon his arrest, Ganesh informed officers that he had ingested a poisonous substance, showing them a bottle containing a suspected herbicide. He was immediately transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he remains under police guard.

The investigation into the incident continues.
