September 23, 2024 — Ryvan Francis, 46, was formally charged with the murder of Levoy Taljit, a crime committed between December 23 and December 27, 2012, along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Dead: Levoy Taljit

Francis was arrested on September 17, 2024, and appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court today.

Due to the seriousness of the charge, Francis was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence.

He was remanded to prison, with the court setting the next hearing for October 9, 2024, when statements will be disclosed.

The case, which dates back more than a decade, is now moving forward as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Taljit’s death.
