September 23 2024 — President Irfaan Ali, visited Scotland recently for a series of high-level engagements aimed at advancing Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) 2030.

The meetings were facilitated by the King’s Foundation, highlighting royal support for the country’s sustainable development efforts.

President Ali’s visit builds on recent interactions between the King’s Foundation and Guyana.

The Foundation has pledged to assist in the next phase of the LCDS, particularly focusing on sustainable urban development. This follows the President’s recent announcement during his speech on the LCDS, in which he outlined plans to transform Georgetown back into the “Garden City of the Caribbean.”

The President’s efforts in Scotland mark a significant step forward in implementing Guyana’s LCDS vision, with the support of international and royal partners.
