Semifinals play in the Kashif and Shanghai One Guyana National Futsal Championship did not disappoint. Vying for a chance to play in the finals on May 20th and over 2.5 million in cash and prizes, performances by each team did not disappoint and fans were treated to a great night of futsal action, played at the National Park.

In the first game, Bent Street wasted no time booking their ticket to the finals when they came up against California Square.

Heavy favorites to progress out of this tie, Bent Street would open the scoring through an impressive strike from Pernell Shultz in the 6th Minute. Colin Nelson made it 2-0 with a 16th-minute strike before goals started pouring in for Bent Street. Gerry Burnette actually made it 2-1 with a goal for California Square before Job Caesar added a hattrick, Adrian Aaron added a Brace, and Wilson and Holder each tallied a goal to make it 9-2 and seal the win for Bent Street. David George was the other scorer for California Square.

Spart Boss managed to hold off Back Circle in a closely contested match to set up a date with Bent Street in the finals, by winning 6-4. With the match evenly contested, it was Ryan Naughton who made it 2-1 with his goal contribution. Ryan Hacket then equalized to make it 2-2 in the 21st minute of the game. The game would go back and forth until Sheldon Shepherd’s second strike of the game came in the 33rd minute and Hackett’s second came in the 39th minute making it 6-4. Back Circle would miss two close goal-scoring opportunities, including a penalty, which resulted in the final score remaining 6-4 in favor of Sparta Boss.

The Final will be played on Saturday the 20th of May, between Bent Street and Spart Boss, who were the tournament favorites to make it to the finals.
