$3.4M in cocaine found at post office in Christmas cards destined for NY

Officers of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) om Friday discovered 647.6 grams of cocaine at the Guyana Post Office (GPO) Corporation.

According to a statement from CANU, the substance was found in five yellow envelopes concealed in a sealed plastic pack in between Christmas cards. The envelopes were destined for Brooklyn, New York City.

Based on our estimate, the discovered cocaine has a street value of $17,000 USD (3.4 million GYD)

Further investigations into the discovery are ongoing.
