23-Y-O killed in early morning crash at Harlem

A 23-year-old man lost his life following a violent early morning collision along Harlem Public Road, West Coast Demerara, on Wednesday.
Dead is Bernard North of Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown.
According to a police report the crash occurred at approximately 01:30hrs and involved a motor car and a pickup travelling in opposite directions. Reports indicate that the car, which was heading east at a high rate of speed, lost control, veered across the roadway, and slammed into the front of the oncoming pickup.
The impact left all three occupants injured. North, along with the driver of the pickup—a 32-year-old man of Windsor Forest—and his 33-year-old female passenger of Bangkok, Thailand, were rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
North was pronounced dead on arrival, while the other two occupants were treated for their injuries. Their conditions were not listed as life-threatening.
North’s body has since been taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Footage from nearby cameras is expected to assist in piecing together the events leading up to the crash.
