Guyana signs agreement with Barbados investment, export agencies

The Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest) on Tuesday signed a Mutual Cooperation Agreement for Investment with Invest Barbados and Export Barbados. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the ongoing International Energy Conference and Expo 2022 which is attended by Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley and a team from the Island state.

The document was signed between the Chief Executive Officer of Go-Invest, Dr Peter Ramsaroop, CEO of Invest Barbados, Ms. Kaye-Anne Brathwaite and CEO of Export Barbados, Mr. Mark Hill.

According to GO-Invest, the purpose of the agreement is to promote and improve trade and investments between the two countries and to boost co-operation in support of trade and investment promotion activities.

Invest Barbados in collaboration with all Government Ministries provide access to administrative information including laws, standards, regulations, incentives and business conditions around the nation. This information is provided to anyone interested in setting up a business in the CARICOM nation.

Meanwhile, Export Barbados is a value-creating agency. Its helps Barbadian exporters to reach their global goals on the export market.

The International Energy Conference and Expo is attended by major stakeholders in the petroleum and other industries worldwide. The event runs from February 15 to February 18 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel under the theme “Charting a sustainable energy future.”
