The Guyana Police Force’s Traffic Department has recorded 397 cases on Saturday, with speeding topping the charts at 127 cases and Driving Under the Influence at 25 cases.

Enforcement is complemented by sustained education programs via lectures to schools, drivers, and bar owners, as well as those gathered at entertainment spots across the country.

According to the Traffic Department, the sustained effort is aimed at ensuring full compliance with laws and respect for the road and all category of road users.

Speeding is not the answer, and driving under the influence is not an option. Regional traffic officers were warned to ensure visibility by day and night along with roving patrols, complemented by CCTV cameras, identifying congestion early, and addressing the same without delay.
