As the Government of Guyana prepares to host its second Agri-Investment Forum and Expo in a matter of days, Ministry of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, on Tuesday, visited the Arthur Chung Conference Center (ACCC) to conduct a site visit.

The Minister also hosted a press conference to give an update on the Expo’s agenda and some of the confirmed participating companies and organizations.

Minister Mustapha said as the host and the lead country for agriculture within the Region, Guyana has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the development and modernization of the sector while realizing its potential of once again becoming the breadbasket in CARICOM.

Minister Mustapha disclosed that to date, a total of 150 exhibitors and some 100 agro-processors, including 30 from overseas, have confirmed their participation thereby showcasing diverse quality agricultural products and support systems. He also said that a number of Heads of Governments along with international partners have confirmed participation.

This year, the opening ceremony for the Agri-Investment Forum and Expo will also be held at the Arthur Chung Convention Center as opposed to last year when it was held at the National Culture Center.

It is anticipated that this year’s expo will be bigger than that of last year given the successes of the previous Agri Investment Forums and Expos that were held in Guyana and Trinidad last year.

The Agri-Investment Forum and Expo will be held from October 20th to the 22nd under the theme Achieving Vision 25 by 2025. Persons interested in attending and participating are asked to visit the Expo’s official website at https://agri.gy/ .
