Quincy Hooper, a 33-year-old security guard from Lot 70 Fyrish Road, Corentyne, Berbice, has been arrested and charged with the murders of Melissa Arokium and Anthony Arokium.

The incident occurred on August 23, 2023, at Reef, Rose Hall Town, Corentyne.

Hooper, also known as “Red Man,” was charged on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, with the offense of murder, contrary to Common Law. He appeared before Her Worship, Ms. Michaelle Mathias, at the Albion Magistrate’s Court, where the indictable charge was formally read to him.

As the charge is indictable, Hooper was not required to enter a plea. He was remanded to prison and is scheduled to return to court on October 4, 2024.

The case continues to unfold as the legal process moves forward.
