The body of Cecil George was found floating in the Dredge Creek area, yesterday midday. According to information reaching BIG Smith News Watch, the sixty-six-year-old man had been missing since last Tuesday.

The discovery was made by the man’s daughter, Rachel George, who has been searching for her father since he went missing last week.

According to the forty-four-year-old woman, Cecil George had departed his Sommerset home sometime around 22:00hrs last Tuesday.

The woman further told police that her father mentioned nothing of his destination and he also appeared to be intoxicated.

This publication understands that when George failed to return home on last Wednesday, his daughter filed a report at the Charity Police Station.

Sometime around 05:30 hrs. the woman, along with other relatives, formed a search party, and combed Lower Pomeroon Area, which included Dredge Creek.

Sometime yesterday midday, George’s body was discovered floating face up, in the Dredge Creek area.

According to police, the body was clothed in a blue jersey and a dark-blue short pants. The body was subsequently taken to the Charity wharf, before being pronounced dead by a doctor at the Charity Hospital.

The body is presently at the Suddie Morgue, awaiting a postmortem examination.
