Truck’s sudden turn blamed for deadly Providence crash

A sudden turn by a motor lorry is believed to have triggered a deadly three-vehicle collision along Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara, on Saturday afternoon, leaving one man dead and several others injured.
According to police, the lorry turned across the roadway and into the path of an approaching minibus, causing the bus to crash into its side. The impact forced the minibus into the median before it crossed onto the opposite carriageway, overturned, and struck a southbound motor car.
Ruddy Raymond, 36, of Lima, Essequibo Coast, was pronounced dead at the scene. Several other occupants of the minibus were injured and taken to the Diamond Regional Hospital for treatment, while the occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.
