Brazilian National Remanded on Attempted Felony Charge

A 29-year-old Brazilian national, identified as Fabio Peter, has been charged with attempting to commit a felony.

The charge stems from an alleged offence committed against Reiaz Akbar. Peter, who is unemployed and resides at St. Ignatius Village, Central Rupununi, was arrested and formally charged on October 18, 2025.

He appeared before Magistrate O. Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 21, 2025, where the charge was read to him. Peter was not required to enter a plea and was subsequently remanded to prison.

The matter has been adjourned to November 27, 2025, for continuation.
