Trio on trial for killing labourer during robbery.

A jury at the Demerara High Court is presently hearing evidence in the trial of three men who are accused of killing a labourer of Uitspa Village, Demerara at his home during a robbery.
Chandrapaul Persaud, 50, Heralall Ramdhan, 59, and Jagishwar Dhanai, 34, were read a joint charge, which stated that between July 24 and July 26, 2017, in the county of Demerara, they murdered Dhanpaul Dookie called Paulie or Short Man.
They pleaded not guilty before presiding judge Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. Prior to their incarceration, the three accused had resided at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to reports, Dookie, 51, was murdered in the course or furtherance of a robbery at his residence.
It was reported that the man was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his home at around 08:00 hours on July 26, 2017.
