Teen stabbed to death at ‘rum shop’

An 18-year-old was on Saturday night killed at a shop at Swan Village Linden Soesdyke Highway following an argument.

Police said the teen, Roy Boston of lot 5 Swan Village, was at the shop consuming alcohol with his friends and family when several others entered the shop and an argument ensued.

At about 22:15h, it is alleged that Boston pulled out a knife and dealt one of the males a stab to his left side waist and back.

Boston reportedly began to verbally abuse everyone at the shop and a scuffle ensued between him and the man he initially stabbed. It was during the scuffle that the teen was stabbed to his left side chest. He fell to the ground after which the suspect escaped.

The teen was then escorted to the Diamond Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 02:30hrs. The body is presently at the Memorial Gardens awaiting Post Mortem.

Police said checks were made for the suspect but he has not been found. Investigation in progress.
