SJB, Charity Primary pick up big wins in Courts Pee-Wee tourney

In the ongoing Courts Optical Pee Wee Football Championship, Charity Primary Schools’ boys kicked off the day with a commanding 6-0 victory over St. Aloysius Primary, featuring hat-tricks from Troy Boston and Adon Holmes when the tournament continued on Saturday at the Ministry of Education ground.

Potaro Primary followed suit, narrowly defeating Smith Memorial Primary 3-1, with Lamon Telemaque scoring twice, while Marek Timmerman added another for Potaro. Smith Memorial’s lone goal came from Derick Holder.

Agatash Primary dominated Clonbrook Primary, winning 5-0, thanks to Carlos Paul’s two goals, along with contributions from Justin Calvan, Deon Tracey, and Jake Calvan.

St. John the Baptiste (SJB) emerged as the day’s standout team, thrashing Ann’s Grove Primary 10-0. Neymar Edwards netted a hat-trick, while Aaron Christian scored six goals, and Alex Pearson capped it off with a goal in the 30th minute.

Georgetown International Academy (GIA) pulled off an upset with a 3-0 win over St. Stephen’s Primary, with Zakaria Zemmit scoring twice and Caleb Tan adding another. Leonora Primary also surprised St. Pius Primary, winning 2-0 with goals from Elyon Hyman and Adrian Harry.

North Georgetown Primary secured a 2-0 victory against Goed Fortuin Primary, led by Avion Lynch’s two goals. Winfer Gardens Primary edged Redeemer Primary 1-0 with a goal from Omari St. Hill, while West Ruimveldt defeated Sophia Primary 5-0, highlighted by a brace from Ceon Rajkumar.

Stella Maris Primary continued their strong performance, beating St. Mary’s Primary 4-0, with Kenyeatha Junor scoring twice. Genesis Academy and St. Theresa’s Primary played to a 1-1 draw, and Tucville Primary claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Batavia Primary with a goal from Dominic Dickson.

The tournament continues at the same venue on October 11.
