CPCE Launches Online Classes for Hinterland Schools

-Expanding Reach to Teachers Across Regions
September 19 2024- The Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) has officially launched a groundbreaking online education program aimed at empowering teachers in hinterland schools. Utilizing digital platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, the initiative is providing quality instruction to educators in some of the most remote areas of Guyana.
In its first week, the pilot program successfully connected teachers from as far north as Waini in Region 1 to Gunns, Deep South Rupununi, in Region 9. Over 300 educators are expected to participate in the program, which covers a wide range of courses offered by the college.
CPCE is also organizing weekly cluster tutorials within each region to supplement the general lectures delivered by specialists. This initiative seeks to enhance collaboration among teachers in remote areas and ensure they have access to the resources and support needed to improve their professional development.
The online classes represent a significant step forward in CPCE’s mission to provide equitable education opportunities for teachers across the country.
