Minister Bharrat Arrives in Region 7 for Community Outreach

Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, along with a team of senior officials from the Ministry and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), has commenced a series of community engagements in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
The outreach began with the team’s arrival in Kamarang, where they are scheduled to hold meetings with residents in several villages across the region.
The visit forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to engage hinterland communities on issues related to natural resource management and regional development.
Following their arrival in Kamarang, Minister Bharrat and his delegation traveled to Kako village, where they met with residents to discuss local concerns and development opportunities.
The discussions are expected to focus on sustainable mining practices, environmental protection, and expanding economic benefits for communities in the region.
The outreach underscores the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring inclusive governance and addressing the needs of residents in remote and mining-dependent areas.
