Opposition Member of Parliament (MP) Sherod Duncan was aced on $100,000 bail and is set to appear in Court on Monday, January 17, 2022.

Duncan was on Thursday arrested to assist in an ongoing investigation in relation to a Cybercrime offence.

In a statement to the media, the Guyana Police Force disclosed that the arrest was made at around 11:00 hrs, following a report from Information Technology Manager at the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) that Duncan during his ‘In the Ring’ on Facebook, made derogatory statements against him.

The 36-year-old reported that the MP called by name and referred to him as ‘jagabat’, ‘trench crappo’ amongst other disrespectful names which caused him significant emotional stress and humiliation.

As such, the mentioned video was identified and downloaded from the Facebook page under the name ‘Sherod Avery Duncan’.

A statement was taken from Aneal Giddings and an investigation has commenced
