Georgetown, Guyana — First Lady Arya Ali recently participated in a significant milestone for the nation’s energy sector as she officially named and toured the ONE GUYANA Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, which arrived in Guyana’s waters after completing a 56-day journey from Singapore.

The FPSO traveled over 11,000 nautical miles (approximately 20,000 kilometers) to reach its destination on schedule. As the Godmother of the vessel, the First Lady’s involvement marked a moment of national pride, underscoring the vessel’s importance as both a technological achievement and a symbol of Guyana’s rapidly advancing oil and gas industry.

The ONE GUYANA FPSO is a key component of the Yellowtail development project and is designed to produce up to 250,000 barrels of oil per day. Its operations are expected to significantly contribute to the country’s energy output, stimulate job creation, and strengthen the local economy.

The vessel’s arrival marks a new chapter in Guyana’s emergence as a leading player in the global energy market. It reflects the collective efforts of stakeholders who have worked to ensure the country’s continued progress in the petroleum sector.

As Guyana moves forward in its energy journey, the successful commissioning of the ONE GUYANA FPSO stands as a milestone in the country’s development and a step toward a more prosperous and sustainable future.
