National STEAM Fair 2025 Opens in Georgetown

— Showcasing Student Innovation for Sustainable Development
April 23, 2025: The Ministry of Education’s National STEAM Fair 2025 is open!, an exciting three-day event that places student innovation at the forefront of sustainable development in Guyana.
Held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre from April 23 to 25, the fair is open to the public daily from 9 AM to 3 PM, with free admission.

The event brings together students from across all 10 administrative regions, featuring over 200 booths of student-led projects that explore practical and creative solutions through the lens of STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

This year’s theme, “Innovative Solutions through STEAM for Sustainable Development in Guyana,” emphasizes the role of education and innovation in building a resilient future.

At the opening ceremony earlier today, Minister of Education Priya Manickchand expressed her satisfaction with the impressive array of booths and creative projects on display.
She highlighted the remarkable innovations being showcased by students from across Guyana, noting that these ideas have the potential to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
The Minister emphasized that such creativity and forward-thinking may one day play a vital role in shaping the future of the country.
Visitors to the fair can engage with interactive exhibits, hands-on experiments, robotics demonstrations, and art installations, all designed and presented by school teams.
These projects aim to address key national and global challenges, from environmental protection to renewable energy, food security, and technology-driven solutions.
The National STEAM Fair not only promotes critical thinking and problem-solving among students but also encourages public awareness of the impact that STEAM education can have on society.
The fair continues through Friday, April 25, offering an opportunity for students, teachers, families, and community members to celebrate youth innovation and inspire the next generation of problem solvers.
