The Ministry of Education has moved to dispel reports circulating on social media suggesting that Brickdam Secondary School is experiencing structural problems, describing the claims as inaccurate and misleading.

In an official clarification issued by the school’s administration, it was explained that once the matter was brought to the attention of the Headmistress, it was promptly reported to the Ministry of Education on Sunday, January 11. A plumber was dispatched to the institution on the same day, and the issue was fully resolved by Monday, January 12.

According to the clarification, the incident was not structural in nature. Instead, it resulted from damage to the catchment beneath sinks in the female washrooms, coupled with taps being left on during a period of low water pressure on Friday.

When normal water pressure was restored over the weekend, the unattended flow caused an overflow, which led to damage to the ceiling on the lower floor.

Both the Ministry of Education and the administration of Brickdam Secondary School have assured that the situation has been addressed and that the school’s structural integrity was never compromised.
