MV BARIMA DISTRESS: Hairdresser still missing…

Greseidys del Carmen Ríos Martinez, a Venezuelan national and hairdresser who operates a salon in Port Kaituma, Region One, is among the persons who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while on a voyage from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.
Her employee, Xiomara, told BIG Smith News Watch that Martinez had travelled to Georgetown and was returning to Port Kaituma when she boarded the MV Barima.
Martinez, who is well known in the Port Kaituma community through her hair salon, has not yet been accounted for as efforts continue following the vessel’s sinking.
