Monkey Mountain Farmer Charged with Murder
January 30 2025- A Monkey Mountain farmer has been charged with the murder of Edson Edwards following his arrest earlier this week.
Blanton Leonard Fidel, also known as ‘Simon,’ a 28-year-old farmer from Monkey Mountain, North Pakaraimas, was taken into custody on January 27, 2025. He was officially charged with murder on January 30, 2025.
Fidel appeared virtually before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea and has been remanded to prison.
The case has been adjourned until April 23, 2025, for the disclosure of statements and report.
